Grampians Wine Events

Grampians Grape Escape is your go-to festival the first weekend in May each year. Think epic live music, award-winning wines, and masterclasses for every kind of wine lover—all set against the stunning backdrop of the Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park.

Since 1992, this iconic event has brought together more than 120 local wine and food producers, offering a feast of flavours, sights, and sounds. Held across three days in Halls Gap, you can sip, snack, and groove to your heart’s content. And with shuttle buses running from nearby towns, you can enjoy it all without a worry.

This family-friendly festival pulls in up to 8,000 guests annually, with plenty of activities and tourism experiences waiting just beyond the festival gates. Whether you’re here for the wine, the tunes, or the adventure, the Grampians Grape Escape has it all.

Hosted by our friendly Cellar Door team, the Stables dinner offers a chance to share good food, fine wine and stories from the heart of Best’s Great Western. Members of the Thomson family often drop by to welcome guests when they’re around.

Best’s Wines are thrilled to host the Stables dinner, an exclusive dining experience in our Stables cellar door. In collaboration with local talent Jody and Co Catering, we’re presenting a carefully curated three-course menu, expertly paired with a selection of our finest wines.

With just 24 seats on our long table, this intimate wine and dining event offers a memorable culinary journey.

We are very pleased to offer a number of non-drinking ticket options for guests to join us for dinner, with non-alcoholic drinks available to enjoy.

Barney’s Bar & Bistro will be taking orders from the shed and delivering dinner straight to your seat, so you can fuel up without missing a beat. Whether you’re crooning classics, belting out bangers or just cheering from the crowd with a glass in hand, this is your stage. Wine will be flowing, mics will be hot – and yes, your friends will film you.

Come solo, bring a crew, or make new mates as you game the night away in our cosy Grampians wine shed. No pressure, just plenty of wine (or beer) and good times.

Whether you’re a seasoned connoisseur or just love a great glass of wine, the Red Series offers a relaxed, festive atmosphere with live music, delicious local food, and the best wines the west has to offer.

We are thrilled to announce that Ballarat will once again play host to the highly anticipated Red Series event, showcasing the very best of Western Victoria’s winemakers and their award-winning wines. The event will run over two days, giving attendees several opportunities to indulge in a world-class wine-tasting experience.

Taking place on the 25th and 26th of July 2025, the Red Series will be held at the historic Mining Exchange building, conveniently located just a short walk from Ballarat’s train station. The venue offers an ambient heated indoor space that perfectly complements the warm and inviting atmosphere of the event.

The Pyrenees, Grampians and Ballarat wine regions are renowned for their winemaking history spanning over 160 years, as well as their breathtaking landscapes and down-to-earth winemakers. At the Red Series, you’ll have the opportunity to sample fine wines from 17 of the region’s top wineries. Whether you’re a seasoned wine connoisseur or simply looking to explore new tastes, there’s something for everyone at this event.
